NFL Legend Says George Pickens Changed the Entire Cowboys Offensive Picture in TNF Loss to Lions
The Dallas Cowboys went to Detroit for Week 14 with all the momentum of having defeated last seasonâs Super Bowl contenders in a row. But away from AT&T, their energy felt off. And after Dallas fell 44-30 to the Detroit Lions, star receiver George Pickens had to shoulder most of the blame for the Cowboys. While a majority blamed him, including Richard Shermanâs take that Pickens was âuninterestedâ in the game, former NFL quarterback Alex Smith offered a fresh take defending the wideout.
âThis guy got everybody else open,â Smith said on ESPNâs Sunday NFL Countdown. âWe only looked at his targets and catches and numbers. But listen, this guy got everybody open. Heâs running post taking two and theyâre hitting deep crosses under it.â
